Hubzilla Support Forum+ I seem to have made a mess again.
I set up a new server, and used the import channel feature (including importing the posts) by pointing it to my old channel with login/password etc. Only about half of my connections showed up, so I thought maybe it was a problem with that feature, so I then imported the channel with a file. This was seemingly a bad idea, as exactly the same contacts showed up (still only half as many as on my original channel), but this time there were duplicates of them all. I figured I would start over, so I deleted the channel, and now it will not import the channel either way.
I see there are still lots of items and information in the database about that channel even though I deleted it, so I am guessing this is another situation where I need to delete the items and possibly the channel from the database. I thought I would check here to see if I could get some advice on what I need to delete to be able to import the channel again, and any advice on why it is not importing all of my connections. I used a different email address to register the new account, do they have to match?
I am also interested in what the expected use case is to having the same channel on multiple hubz, I was thinking the idea was just to be able to have the second channel on the other server as a backup in case one of them was not available etc. What happens to new posts do they mirror on both servers or are they independent and I would need to keep importing data somehow?
Thanks for any information!
