Being mad at people who voted for Trump is much like spitting on soldiers that came back from the Vietnam war because you hated the war.
I hated the Vietnam war, but the men and women who fought in it deserve respect. I hate the wars in the middle east but the men and women who fought there on our behalf deserve respect. I do not like Trumpism as a political movement, but the people who voted for him deserve respect. I do not like the US economic system that rewards the wealthy by exploiting the workers and consumers, but the people who supported it by working in the US for the last 50 years deserve respect. The fact is that most of the time this is one person, who deserves respect.
Lots of these people are people I love and respect, and they are caught up in something that I don't like, but there are reasons they are there and I hate the reasons not the people. I was thinking there is a whole bunch of stuff the government does that I do not support and I do not want to be held accountable for even though I voted for some of the people who did it. We need to work together to change the reasons, not hate each other for our reaction to them.
