Hi Captain Bob. It's well known (or so I thought) that to get reciprocal privilages, you need to be a landed yacht club, meaning a club house preferrably with guest slips. Since our boats are based in MDR I've always wondered if there were some way to offer up your slip while you were visiting someplace else. How would you make arrangements to allow you in and out of the gate to go to your boat, and rest room facilities?[ Now adays, the harbor has a policy of persecuting live a boards.] Is a puzzlement, as Yul Brynner said in the movie "King and I". Meanwhile, it's probably cheaper to rent a slip form the harbor master than for little 'ol VMF to go out and lease the land and build us our own club. Meanwhile, you can always join and landed club and still race with VMF, something many of us (me not yet) are doing.
